GREETINGS TO THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS ON THE OCCASION OF THE ANNUAL CONVOCATION
On the most memorable and joyous occasion of the annual Convocation of our Northshore College, which is a significant milestone for the institution itself, I wish a blissful, successful, prosperous and above all harmonious life for all students who are stepping out of this institution after graduation.

There are three things that will serve as a magic wand for your future life, viz. fixed resolve on the goal to be achieved, sustained faith in that Power who is guiding, propelling, articulating and finally protecting us from within and without and optimistic outlook in all that happens. May you all be able to imbibe the same.
I congratulate the Professors and Lecturers for their significant contribution in bringing out excellence and competency in the graduates passing out. I also equally feel proud of the ministerial and other staff for the smooth running and upkeep of the institution.
However, on this occasion we have to remind ourselves that education is an important factor in the evolution of human life. It helps us to regulate our lives and make ourselves useful to our fellow beings. Hence, our academic education should not be merely for the development of the intellect but also for the enlargement of the heart.
May the students who have become graduates today prove to be an asset to the society, to our Motherland and the world at large is our humble prayer.
Our congratulations to all on your achievement and best wishes for a bright future.
I am delighted to be able join our new graduates and your families at the 2019 Northshore College Convocation.
As someone who has been involved in Northshore since its beginning, I am very proud and honoured to be able to share in the day with you and celebrate your achievements.
As you join the global family of UWE Bristol Alumni you will do so with a higher education experience, and the skills and knowledge it brings, that will be important throughout your life.
As you go out into the world be self-confident and bold that you can succeed in your life and career, and also be mindful that you, as the new generation of graduates, should and can use what you have learnt to shape Sri Lanka and the world for the better. Please do stay in touch; today is the beginning of a life-long connection with UWE Bristol.
I would like to thank every single member of the Northshore College staff for their commitment and excellence in making sure that the quality of a UWE degree is the same wherever it is delivered. Their work here in Sri Lanka is something we at the university appreciate and are immensely proud of. Graduates, on behalf of all my colleagues in the UK and Sri Lanka, I congratulate you again; this is your day and we celebrate your achievements.
On behalf of the Faculty of Environment and Technology may I take this opportunity to congratulate all of you receiving your degrees today. This is a great day for everyone and you should feel proud of your achievement, but please acknowledge the support of your family and friends as well. Some will have combined study with commitments such as raising a family or work and I know from experience how difficult this is, so very well done everyone.
We know that our graduates will be agents for change, able to address the many challenges the future holds and influential in shaping the society. We are confident that you will put the knowledge and skills you have acquired during your studies to good use.
